The first weekend of Coachella is almost over and the celebrities are out in force showing us just how much of a good time… we’re missing out on!

But alas, Instagram is here to let us in on all the fun in the sun, and with everyone from Alessandra Ambrosio and her Coachella manicure to Rita Ora arriving in private jet style, and Jourdan Dunn rocking her “Gangsta Hippy” look, we’ve been enjoying all the Coachella style.

Regular attendees like Katy Perry and Lea Michele have been spotted partying at the Lacoste Desert Pool Party, Vanessa Hudgens has been flaunting her new blonde mermaid locks, while regular attendees Selena Gomez, Paris Hilton and more have been taking many festi-snaps too! Gigi Hadid is a model whose name has been popping up around fash town since February. This might have something to do with her debut appearance in the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit 50th anniversary issue as one of the Rookie’s of the Year. Introducing FashionTV’s Model of the Week, Miss Gigi Hadid.

Is it just us, or is 17 the new age of cool? For if you’re not rad Tavi Gevinson, stealing the writers’ crown as hugely successful editor and founder of Rookie magazine; or Lorde, breaking records as one of the world’s most influential musicians; then why not make your mark as the youngest rookie to grace the pages of the world’s hottest swimsuit magazine alongside models like Irina Shayk, Kate Upton and others?

Well, for Gigi Hadid, this was the age that saw her model break to stardom.

Gigi is the daughter of ‘The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star and former model, Yolanda Foster, and Real Estate Tycoon, Mohamed Hadid. She was discovered by designer Paul Marciano of Guess when she was two-years-old. She modeled for Baby Guess, Guess Kids and then took a break until the age of 17, when she signed with IMG Models.

This year, Gigi made her debut catwalk appearance over the Fall 2014-15 collections walking for Desigual at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week New York, and joining Victoria’s Secret models Candice Swanepoel and Erin Heatherton on the runway. She has since featured on the cover of Carine Rotfield’s CR Fashion Book and was revealed as one of the first rookie’s of 12, in this year’s edition of Sport’s Illustrated Swim.

Now, 19-years-old, Gigi is embracing her modeling career, and was recently being pictured nude for the April issue of VMan magazine.

Boho fashion, an all-star audience and a whole lotta hootenanny: Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is on the horizon.

Thousands will arrive on Friday for the first, and arguably most fashionable festival of the season. Yes, that’s right, Coachella opens its doors for two weekends of beautiful sunshine, beautiful people and a dizzy of music performances to officially ring in the summer. So, what makes Coachella the go-to festival?

1. Not just a festival, it’s a lifestyle

The art and music festival has for years been a tastemakers paradise. Not only is it a feeding frenzy for music lovers, celebrity spotters, and bohemian wanderlust but it also offers festival-goers an alternative lifestyle for three whole days. Why sleep in a regular tent when you can opt for a Shakir-style safari one? Why bring beer when you can brew your own? Why go for a morning walk when you can attend daily yoga classes? Why wear a coat when you can wear a poncho… !

2. If you’re famous enough you get paid to go!

Coachella certainly sees the hippest and hottest celebrities in attendance from Kate Bosworth to Alessandra Ambrosio, Diane Kruger and Joshua Jackson, Jessica Alba, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and many more. This year, it has been revealed that Hollywood stars Lea Michele and Vanessa Hudgens are being paid to go. Michele will “earn a cool $20,000 from Lacoste” to wear the label’s clothes while rocking out to headline acts, and McDonald’s is said to be paying Hudgens $15,000 just to walk around. Now, where did we put those VIP passes?

3. Music that will blow your mind

For all the fashion, parties and fruit shakes the California desert event has to offer, Coachella has built a solid reputation for its outstanding music lineup. Previous years have seen artists such as Madonna, The Cure, Prince, and even Tupac (resurrected) light up the stage. And at long last we can look forward to some stellar performances from top-of-the-charts acts like Lorde, Pharrell, Haim, Calvin Harris, and Lana Del Rey, but OutKast’s much buzzed-about 2014 reunion is the must-go!

4. The Coachella clichés

Floppy hats, head-bands, tie-dye crops: we’ve seen it all — and are likely to see it all again, because even the best of us want to look the part. Coachella is famous for bringing out the costume-enthusiast in everyone and with the launch of Alessandra Ambrosio’s bohemian-chic line, ále by Alessandra, we can expect the women to embrace their inner hippy more than ever this Coachella.

5. Giant art installations

Oversized art installations have been a signature feature of Coachella for many years. In 2012, the festival showcased a 130 ft-tall orchid flower (Solitary Inflorescence) and last year opted for giant, meandering snail (Helix Poeticus), which was created in collaboration with Poetic Kinetics and German street artists group Herakut. It’s the night that the biggest celebrities turn out to show support at the amfAR Inspiration Gala, and this year Kate Moss, Izabel Goulart, and many more hit the red carpet and WOWED the crowd!

She may be 40, but Kate Moss has still got the IT-factor, particularly when she rocked up at the amfAR Inspiration Gala São Paulo, dressed in a plunging red Saint Laurent gown. But the British supermodel was not alone, accompanying her was friend and power model Naomi Campbell, who together, led the fashion pack for the night’s events.

Meanwhile, we’ve been following all the fashion furore in São Paulo for the Summer 2015 fashion week season. Beautiful supermodels such as Gisele were spotted backstage and on the catwalk at Colcci, Izabel Goulart represented at Água de Coco, and even Irina Shayk flew in for the occasion to walk at Triton!

She’s classic, she’s elegant, and she’s high flying; Estonian beauty Karmen Pedaru is a fashion favorite with her gorgeous green eyes, million dollar smile (and ahem, super sexy husband). And this season she’s been chosen as the face (and body) of Spanish fashion brand Oysho for its summer 2014 campaign.

Karmen’s model journey began in 2005, when she was discovered at drama school and later began her full-time modelling career at the age of 18. Her first modelling job was for Teen Vogue for which she was flown to India having never before left the country! And Karmen has never looked back. She quickly became an industry favorite and has starred in advertising campaigns for Victoria’s Secret,  Gucci, Derek Lam, Elie Saab and many more.

She describes her style as “relaxed, clean, comfortable, and timeless” and hails Audrey Hepburn and Jane Birkin among her style pinups.

She’s been dubbed the new Kate Moss, and is a controversial child model that has caught the attention of the fashion world courtesy of her new Jalouse cover. Introducing 13-year-old model in the spotlight, Thylane Blondeau “#bornin2001.”

Look once, and she is more than your average doe-eyed, plump-lipped belle: her beauty is quite simply epic. Read how old she is, and this has skyrocketed her to model stardom overnight.

Controversy or Fashion Frenzy?

French youngster Thylane Blondeau has the media in a frenzy. Some say she is too young to be sexualised as a model, others applaud her captivating look and are comparing her to model greats such as Kate Moss and Miranda Kerr, who defined their supermodel status by breaking into the industry as youngsters.

But truth be known, Thylane has been modelling since she was a baby. She is the daughter of French TV host and fashion designer Veronika Loubry, and first caught the attention of the fashion world when, at the age of 10, she was pictured posing for the Tom Ford-edited edition of Vogue Paris in 2011. She was chosen as one of a selection of girls that were dolled up in adult glam-wear and dripping in jewels and makeup, igniting widespread controversy.

Hanging with Kanye

But where there is controversy, there is often talent. Now, Thylane is 13-years-old and has featured on her first “grown up” magazine cover for French glossy Jalouse. The model, who has starred in campaigns for Lacoste, Ralph Lauren Black Label and walked the runway for Jean Paul Gaultier, took to her Twitter account to share the news with a behind-the-scenes image from the Jalouse shoot. But this is just the beginning.

Thylane has some major, and we mean may-jor star friends. You need only check out her Instagram account to see that she is hanging with the big guns, aka Kanye West, model Hollie May Saker, and more.

One thing’s certain, Thylane has big things written in the stars. This is a model we can expect to conquer the fashion world in the years to come!
