Supermodel Adriana Lima was born on June 12, 1981.
Adriana was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, which was one of the host cities for the 2014 World Cup.
Growing up, Adriana won many beauty pageants as a young girl, but still didn’t consider becoming a model.
In 1995, at the young age of 15, Adriana won first place in Ford Models’ “Supermodel of Brazil” competition and second place in the agency’s
“Supermodel of the World” competition in 1996.
In 1999, Adriana moved to New York City and signed with Elite Model Management.
Lima immediately became popular, appearing in multiple international editions of top magazine Vogue and Marie Claire.
That year, Adriana appeared for the first time in the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.
Adriana has been in every Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show since, except one year she missed due to pregnancy.
She also walked runways for Vera Wang, Giorgio Armani, Valentino, and more top designers.
Adriana Lima became a Victoria’s Secret Angel in 2000.
Adriana also became a GUESS? girl that year.
In 2003, she became a spokesmodel for Maybelline, a role she continued for six years.

In April 2006, she graced the cover of GQ and it was the best-selling issue of the year.
Inside the issue, Adriana Lima, a devout Roman Catholic who attends mass every Sunday, told GQ she was saving sex for marriage.

Adriana Lima found love in late 2007 with Serbian NBA player Marko Jaric.
The couple became engaged in June 2008 after 9 months of dating. They married on Valentine’s Day 2009 in the US.
In 2008, the supermodel Adriana had a solo Super Bowl ad and it was the most-seen ad of the whole game, watched by 103.7 million.
