Versace, Prada, Alexander McQueen… it’s not just the ladies that get to enjoy the world’s greatest brands! This weekend FashionTV transports you to the Men’s Fashion Week catwalks for our Weekend Special. Tune in: January 23-25.
As the Fall/Winter 2015-16 season reaches it’s last leg in Paris, this weekend, all weekend, FashionTV invites you to kick back, relax and enjoy all the hottest shows from the latest menswear collections.
So, what have been the highlights so far?
From Snoop Dogg to Swan Lake; the Philipp Plein Fall/Winter 2015-16 show in Milan was as eclectic as ever. To open, Snoop Dogg took to the wrestling cage to perform while Plein’s warriors marched in sportswear, leather and light-up LED trainers. And FashionTV was on the front row to capture it all.
Our favourite fashion duo, DSquared2, have always held an affinity for fashion and music, and this season was no different. Inviting soul queen Mary J. Blige to help them celebrate their 20th anniversary show, the songstress serenaded models down the catwalk in a former airplane hangar-turned-art gallery. The collection was rich in Canadian mountaineer looks, a surprisingly relaxed choice for the fashion forward twins, but this was not just meant to be a show, it was a party… Dean and Dan style.
Models Liu Wen, Jourdan Dunn and David Gandy were on the front row to witness Christopher Bailey’s bohemian take on the Fall/Winter 2015-16 Burberry trends. Accompanying the London Hyde Park show, music prodigee Clare Maguire took to the stage to perform “House of the Rising Sun” and other ballads.
Topman Design was the show that kicked off the entire Men’s Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2015-16 season. Playing an ode to 10 iconic 70s rock stars which came by way of cropped tops, flares and shaggy faux-fur jackets.
Tune in to FashionTV, this weekend for the full Men’s Fashion Week review!
Alexander McQueen’s military man, Burberry Prorsum’s classical bohemian, Topman’s 70s revival. All the biggest brands were at London Collections: Men, and this is what they had to say about next Fall’s trends…
Now in its third year, London Collections: Men brought the hottest menswear designers and showcases from across the globe to shine a spotlight on the new Fall/Winter 2015 trends. And FashionTV was there to capture it all.
Enter McQueen world, menswear style. This season, was all about raw-edge uniform. Whether for “work or war” the dress uniform has long stood as a symbol that all men are equal in the face of duty. With the military jacket, poppy blooms and other military references featuring heavily in the new Fall/Winter 2015 collection, McQueen menswear had one message to all: Stand strong in the face of separation.
Putting on a familiar show at the staple Kensington Gardens venue, Christopher Bailey offered a free-spirited take on classic pieces for the Burberry Prorsum Fall/Winter 2015 menswear show. And ready on the front-row were fashion’s finest VIP guests, including Anna Wintour, David Gandy and Jourdan Dunn. Check out the collections of deconstructed shapes and authentic fabrics in deep, natural tones, below.
Opening this year’s London Collections: Men showcase, Topman took the coveted spot, presenting a collection of Shang-A-Lang! 70s revival fashion for the new season. Leading the look book with an ode to 10 iconic musicians of the era to include Iggy Pop, Mick Jagger, Jim Morrison, Jimmy Hendrix and more; Topman successfully revived their definitive style.

What was your favorite show of the Spring/Summer 2015 season
As we welcome the penultimate day of Paris Fashion Week and indeed the Spring/Summer 2015 collections, FashionTV takes a look at some of the most talked about shows of the week par excellence!
Contemporary costume drama would sum up Vivienne Westwood’s Spring/Summer 2015 showcase as fairytale characters stormed the catwalk, with a political agenda. Little Bo Peep, Snow White and Adam and Eve (played by Vivienne and husband) were among the many characters to grace the Parisian stage.
Somewhere in the mountains of cotton candy, Indian designer Manish Arora presented his Spring/Summer 2015 show abundant in iridescent pastel prints, see-through panels as well as visors and fanny packs. Hot pink bindis, elaborate beading, giant eyes and Hindu deities’ faces also appeared in the new season’s look book.
The enfant terrible of the fashion pack, Jean Paul Gaultier put on the show of a lifetime, with an half hour fashion spectacle that kicked-off as a beauty pageant. Looks were inspired by everything from WAGS to the Tour De France. It was after all his last ever ready-to-wear collection… non?!
Un, deux, trois… ooh lala! Hedi Slimane certainly knows how to draw a crowd at Saint Laurent, where Lenny Kravitz, Pete Doherty and Daft Punk were among the music a-listers sitting front row. This season, Slimane presented another edgy lookbook for the new season.
Making fashion history yet again, Raf Simons for Dior opened in a classic monochrome palette of modern, re-visited silhouettes. “I started to think, ‘what is modern?’” said Simons of his collection. His answer: looking to the past and presenting it to the future.
