Tune In to FashionTV: March 20-22…

In a strong season, and a month long of marathon shows throughout New York, crossing the waters to London, moving to Milan and closing in Paris, there were numerous shows that got the fashion editors in a frenzy! Here’s a taste of things to come…

PARIS | Iris van Herpen: Planet Earth

Famed for her play with 3-Dimensional fashion, new technologies and science; for Fall/Winter 2015 Iris van Herpen explored the idea of terraforming – modifying the biosphere of another planet to resemble that of Earth. Her Paris show was future forward; comprising spherical shapes of planetary bodies, biomimetic structures and saturated spectral colors. Take a look into the future…

NEW YORK | Gigi Hadid Backstage at Diesel Black Gold

Gigi Hadid is the model of the moment, and FashionTV caught up with her backstage in New York at the Diesel Black Gold Fall/Winter 2015 show! This season, the 19-year-old Californian model walked 12 shows between New York, Milan and Paris. Speaking about her off-the-catwalk style, Gigi says: “My everyday outfit is jeans and a t-shirt, I like to call it casual chic because I like putting a statement piece with a casual outfit.” Hear more from the interview, below!

MILAN | Dolce & Gabbana: Mamma Power

It’s a fashion week right that Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana get a headline show, and this season was no different. Amidst recent controversy of their anti-IVF, anti Gay marriage comments, the Italian design duo dedicated their Fall 2015/16 collection to celebrating motherhood and famiglia — with babies and children the runway accessory of choice! Fittingly, the Spice Girls’ 1996 hit, ‘Mama I Love You’ was the soundtrack to the show.

The Moncler Gamme Rouge Fall/Winter 2015

Giambattista Valli has turned his attentions to the truest British style, reinventing its tenets and breaking them up. To do so he has freely created a sophisticated mosaic of formal quotes, comprising traditional British fabrics such as colorful tartans and the clean graphic lines of the «Prince of Wales» check, with the rough elegance of country tweed. The meticulous masculine spirit of Savile Row blurs into a contemporary take on a sporty yet feminine style, powered by futuristic technological research. The garment seams are heat-sealed, whilst surfaces are coated and cut using a laser; the fabrics recall the finest traditional British materials using tartan and mohair check, whilst neck-scarf prints are created on double-layer cottons. The borders embroidered with heraldic motifs are striking, as is the camouflage embroidering with a mixture of textures such as check wool, mohair, technical mesh and patent. Heat-sealed embroidered flowers are cut and applied using both graduated and all – over approaches.

The creative effects are combined to create a weave made up of patchworks and overlapping elements, patterns and colors. The volumes see clear-cut designs that focus on the waistline, more important and pivotal than ever before. The haute couture spirit comes face to face with a sporting, laid-back vocation. The most emblematic item is the riding coat: it carries all the hallmarks of nineteenth-century style worked over with flair.

Moncler Gamme Rouge Fall / Winter 2015 – 16 draws on the ritual of dressing for horse riding, on the appeal that combines sporting attitude and tradition with a healthy dose of snobbery, a touch of humor and tongue –in – cheek irony.

The woman Giambattista Valli has conjured up for the Moncler Gamme Rouge F / W 2015 – 16 collection is ready to strike out for a weekend of horse riding on a vast aristocratic estate in the English countryside. But she does it her own way, defying any classifications or clichés; she can allow herself the luxury of aesthetic challenges and extremely daring metropolitan color contrasts. No doubt it is a game that would have gone down well with Nancy Mitford, the great novelist and eldest of Lord Redesdale’s legendary daughters. With her extraordinary existential restlessness and bold eccentricity, she positively dazzled in mid – Twentieth century Britain.

Vivienne Westwood stands against gender

This season, Vivienne Westwood took her signature punk mash-up designs and gave them a unisex edge. For Fall 2015, the designer turned her political eye to take a stand against gendered silhouettes. Whether it was having male models in historical golden corsets and mini-skirts or petite girls in wide shouldered suits, Westwood proved yet again that rules are made to be broken. Look out for Game of Thrones star, Gwendoline Christie walk the show.

Etam Lingerie blows a kiss & fires a gun!

FashionTV takes you to the Etam Lingerie Fall/Winter 2015 Show during Paris Fashion Week. On stage, Major Lazer & DJ Snake feat. MØ performing their debut live version of “Lean On,” as models hit the catwalk in a collection of tribal-inspired lingerie.

Valentino’s really really good lookin’ collection

To the surprise of absolutely everyone, Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson hit the catwalk at the Valentino Fall/Winter 2015 show, appearing as their alter-ego’s Zoolander and Hansel in honor of the upcoming sequel, Zoolander 2. Vogue caught up with them backstage: “Usually I go right, left, right, left, right, left, but today I’m going to start left in honor of how the sun rotates.” Watch, for more:

Chanel’s Brasserie Gabrielle

Renowned for the grandest of fashion sets, for Fall 2015 Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into the biggest, chicest brasserie in Paris, naming it after Chanel’s founder – Brasserie Gabrielle. And the diners were none other than models of the moment Kendall Jenner and Cara Delevingne.
