FashionTV heads to the land of celebrity Instagram, which is never short of a glamorous affair. This week we take a peek inside the magical Stella McCartney garden party, attend Gucci’s Chime for Change gala and more!
Stella McCartney’s summer garden party is always a chic affair and this year’s star-studded presentation didn’t disappoint. The star-filled guest list included names such as Amber Heard, Cara Delevingne, Maggie Gyllenhaal, and Helena Christensen who arrived in her Spring 2015 collection at the New York venue.
Meanwhile, Beyonce and sister Solange showed a united front at Gucci’s Chime for Change gala as they posed together following the infamous Met Ball lift brawl; and despite recent news that Rita Ora and DJ Calvin Harris have split, the Pop star has pulled out the post break-up glam card, looking hotter than ever in a Dior LBD. Take a look:
She’s a crazy cat who knows where it’s at! FashionTV spends the weekend with the hottest model of the moment, the one and only Miss Cara Delevingne!
If something makes for addictive viewing, it’s following the life, career, and funny faces of this British beauty.
Wild child, Cara Delevingne, exploded onto the fashion scene in 2010, making a name for herself as the new face of Burberry. Since then, her career has grown from strength to strength when she dominated the Spring 2011 catwalks leaving almost no show without her trademark stride, bushy brows, and unique beauty.
Shortly after, Cara earned the title as ‘Model of the Year’ at the British Fashion Awards in 2012, and secured her name as one of the biggest model breakthroughs of the decade — she even joined the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show lineup that very same year!
“She’s a character. She’s the Charlie Chaplin of the fashion world” – Karl Lagerfeld
But, the 21-year-old model is more than just a pretty face, she has made no secret of her ambitions to conquer the worlds of music and film too. Cara made her cameo appearance in 2012 screen adaptation of ‘Anna Karenina’ as Princess Sorokina and has now landed her first leading role in British film ‘Kids in Love,’ due for release later this year.
So, tune in this weekend, 16-18 May, for all things fashion + Cara Delevingne… AND, don’t try these faces at home!
EXTRA!! This Sunday, FashionTV will be dedicating special programming to Princess and style icon Grace Kelly. A biopic about the princess, Grace of Monaco, opened the Cannes Film Festival on Wednesday with guests Kendall Jenner, Karlie Kloss, and Blake Lively among the red carpet attendees.
You’ve got to admire the beautiful, the talented, and the ambitious! And when it comes to these top models, well, they’ve got flair… with all three.
Some you will know about, while others may surprise! Read on for FashionTV’s list of top 5 models that broke into the music industry… because singing is the new modeling, don’t you know?
Naomi Campbell: “Love and Tears”
It may not have been the most successful career move, when in 1995 British supermodel Naomi Campbell released her debut album entitled, “Baby Woman,” featuring songs such as “Love and Tears,” “Ride a White Swan,” and “Sunshine on a Rainy Day.” Though it was only ever released in the UK (where it flopped), you might be surprised to learn that the album is actually a lot better than its reviews. Plus, she looks gorgeous in the video. So, Naomi, we forgive you!
Gisele for H&M
Hear the face of the H&M Fall 2013 fashion campaign with her singing debut, “All Day and All of the Night,” originally performed by the Kinks. But that was just a sign of things to come for the world’s highest earning model. Gisele has now collaborated with infamous DJ Bob Sinclar for the second round of H&M campaigns, this time turning her attention to Blondie’s hit single, ‘Heart of Glass.’
British model and “face of the decade” makes no secret of her singing and acting ambitions. Early in 2013 she collaborated on a duet with Will Heard, which hit headlines, as well as singing for every modelling opportunity that allows her, such as Love Magazine features.
Carla Bruni: Born to Sing
Probably the most famous model-turned-singer, Italian beauty, Carla Bruni, turned her attention to singing after a short but fruitful modeling career. She quit modelling in 1997 to focus solely on her music and has released four albums to date. This may have something to do with the fact that her mother was an Italian concert pianist and father, a classical composer — so music was her natural calling.
Vanessa Paradis’ Post Johnny Depp “Love Songs”
She started her music journey with a sweet, Madonna-sounding kinda Pop, and recently released a more mature-sounding album entitled, “Love Songs.” Vanessa Paradis, French model, and ex-wife of Johnny Depp shows him what he’s missing out on in her sultry new music video.
Who do you think has the best voice of our model selection
As the ultra-glamorous Met Gala 2014 drew to an end on Monday night, we were busy following all the models’ beauty preparations and after-party antics. Though for some, like Kendall Jenner, it was a Met Gala debut, for others it was a reason to mingle with the stars at yet another glamorous affair.
With everyone from Victoria’s Secret models Karlie Kloss, Lily Aldridge, and Adriana Lima dressed in Oscar de la Renta, Michael Kors, and Givenchy; to Kate Upton arriving in a curve-enhancing Dolce & Gabbana dress; and Kendall Jenner taking to the red carpet in a pink Topshop gown; Cara Delevingne opted for an unconventional but ultra-sexy look, wearing a Stella McCartney trouser suit. But no matter what the models wore, they exuded beauty, glamor, and confidence both on- and off- the red carpet.
