World’s Highest Paid Models Weekend on FashionTV

This weekend FashionTV presents “World’s Highest Paid Models Weekend.” It’s time to delve into the world of utmost glamor and other-worldly beauty. Tune in, February 6-8.

The 21 beauties on Forbes 2014 list of highest paid beauties, made a combined $124 million in the last year alone, proving that great genes and a good work ethic can go a very long way!

Names such as Gisele Bundchen, Doutzen Kroes and Kate Moss are regulars on the list, while newcomers included Kate Upton, Karlie Kloss, Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne who are busy ruling the runways and dominating glossy magazine pages with their editorials and ad campaigns.

The regulars…

Last year, Gisele broke the internet with her H&M campaigns, which included the Brazilian model singing a rendition of Blondie’s iconic song “Heart of Glass” for their summer swimwear campaign. Meanwhile Dutch powerhouse Doutzen Kroes – despite giving birth to a second son – has bolstered her career with a L’Oreal cosmetics contract. And nothing can stop supermodel Kate Moss from earning her spot on the list, who at 41-years-old is still going strong as a model as well as designer at Topshop.

The newbies…

Kate Upton, the infamous swimsuit-turned-high-fashion model has had a stellar year in 2014, landing contracts with Bobbi Brown cosmetics, Vogue covers and Express clothing line signing amongst others. While British besties Jourdan Dunn and Cara Delevingne also made the hot spot for the first time in their modelling careers,

But, wait! We’ve only revealed 6 of the highest paid models, what about the other 15? Well, you’ll just have to tune in to find out who else made the hot list…any guesses?

Versace, Prada, Alexander McQueen… it’s not just the ladies that get to enjoy the world’s greatest brands! This weekend FashionTV transports you to the Men’s Fashion Week catwalks for our Weekend Special. Tune in: January 23-25.

As the Fall/Winter 2015-16 season reaches it’s last leg in Paris, this weekend, all weekend, FashionTV invites you to kick back, relax and enjoy all the hottest shows from the latest menswear collections.

So, what have been the highlights so far?

Snoop Dogg on stage in Milan

From Snoop Dogg to Swan Lake; the Philipp Plein Fall/Winter 2015-16 show in Milan was as eclectic as ever. To open, Snoop Dogg took to the wrestling cage to perform while Plein’s warriors marched in sportswear, leather and light-up LED trainers. And FashionTV was on the front row to capture it all.

20th Anniversary of DSquared2

Our favourite fashion duo, DSquared2, have always held an affinity for fashion and music, and this season was no different. Inviting soul queen Mary J. Blige to help them celebrate their 20th anniversary show, the songstress serenaded models down the catwalk in a former airplane hangar-turned-art gallery. The collection was rich in Canadian mountaineer looks, a surprisingly relaxed choice for the fashion forward twins, but this was not just meant to be a show, it was a party… Dean and Dan style.

Burberry Men… Need we say more?

Models Liu Wen, Jourdan Dunn and David Gandy were on the front row to witness Christopher Bailey’s bohemian take on the Fall/Winter 2015-16 Burberry trends. Accompanying the London Hyde Park show, music prodigee Clare Maguire took to the stage to perform “House of the Rising Sun” and other ballads.

Topman Design open the collections

Topman Design was the show that kicked off the entire Men’s Fashion Week Fall/Winter 2015-16 season. Playing an ode to 10 iconic 70s rock stars which came by way of cropped tops, flares and shaggy faux-fur jackets.

Tune in to FashionTV, this weekend for the full Men’s Fashion Week review!

Marc Jacobs Weekend Special

This weekend, FashionTV takes you on a journey of all things high-fashion, with our Marc Jacobs Weekend Special. Tune in: January 9-11.

One of the coolest, most influential people in the fashion industry, Marc Jacobs, is more than a fashion designer he is a visionary, a crowd-pleaser and — seldom seen without pet dog Neville — a man of many charms.

For years, he has held the prime spot on the fashion week schedule; whether closing the New York Fashion Week shows with his epiphanous self-named label, or indeed Paris Fashion Week and the entire season as creative director at Louis Vuitton. But whatever the weather, one things for sure, Jacobs knows exactly how to draw a crowd.

In the ’90s, Jacobs came to define the grunge movement. He worked as a designer at Perry Ellis and provoked the fashion world with flannel shirts and thermals, whilst “almost destroying his career.” But with Naomi Campbell among his model cast, the Perry Ellis show was a hit, yet not long after, Jacobs was dismissed from the company. A move that helped Marc Jacobs become a household name.

That very same year Jacobs and business partner Robert Duffy launched their label Marc Jacobs Intl. and in 1994 showed his very first collection. Jacobs was later named creative director of Louis Vuitton in 1997 and tasked with the creation of the house’s first ready-to-wear clothing line, where he remained for 16 years. In 2001, Jacobs launched his more affordable line Marc by Marc Jacobs, now passed over to the creative hands of Katie Hillier and Luella Bartley (Watch their first collection for the brand below).

Today, his designs capture the spirit of fashion week. His shows have helped break the careers of models to include Kendall Jenner at his Fall/Winter 2014-15 show. Know what we’re talking about? Then you’ll need to tune in for all the hottest shows, interviews, photo shoots, designer stories and more this weekend on FashionTV!

Athletic Aesthetic

This Winter, the trends look like they’ll be hanging around for more than just a season, with the Fall/Winter 2014 collections all about wrapping up in style. A strong theme this year came by way of sports-inspired wear with “CoCo Coach” Chanel, Fendi and Louis Vuitton all leading the look.

Power Glamor

While Elie Saab’s winter lookbook was all about dark opulence, the Haute Couture line took artisan embroidery, crystal beading and sparkle to it finest for their “Palais de Lumieres” collection, and as you can imagine, the campaign shoot was rainbow colored!

Countryside Chic

The Cara Delevingne Mulberry collaboration was a hit talking point of 2014. This Winter the British brand takes us on a stylish country vacation with a blast of fresh air to invigorate the brand’s new and very British Autumn Winter 2014 collection with a campaign shot by Tim Walker.

Mad for Mod

Between Miu Miu and Saint Laurent, this year we’ve been preparing for a 60s revival. Actress Stacy Martin appears as a modern-day Warholian superstar in Miu Miu’s latest campaign, shot by eminent fashion photographer, Steven Meisel. While Hedi Slimane dressed his ladies as sixties dolly birds.

The Story of Burberry, Weekend Special

This weekend FashionTV shines a spotlight on the brand that invented the trench coat, made Romeo Beckham a model star and is mad about music. It’s time to celebrate iconic British brand Burberry all weekend on FashionTV. Tune in for The Story of Burberry, December 12-14.

Everybody Loves Burberry

There’s little doubt that Christopher Bailey has revolutionised Burberry since his coming to the brand; with his designs, youthful energy and trend-setting vision pushing the label to become one of the most loved, by celebrities, models and fashionistas alike.

From his ready-to-wear and menswear collections to beauty and more, this year Burberry has already set the trends for a stylish 2015. Regular front-rowers at the shows include the world’s most Kate Moss, Harry Styles and Cara Delevingne (when she’s not gracing the catwalk).

About the Music

But Burberry is more than a brand, it is a lifestyle. Passionate about music, Bailey has designated an entire team to championing young musicians that he believes to be wildly talented. This has become a major feature of his recent collection shows with British singer-songwriters such as Paloma Faith, Tom Odell and Benjamin Clementine adding an original note to his shows.

Then for the campaigns!

Key British icons such as Sienna Miller, Cara Delevingne and Emma Watson have taken the spotlight in Burberry campaigns, which has helped to launch their modelling careers. But then there was ONE. Bailey decided to recruit mini-Beckham, by way of 12-year-old Romeo, to feature as the new star of the brand. In Spring/Summer 2013, Romeo featured in his first shoot for the iconic brand, and now, for the Holiday’s is the star of the show, which has already garnered over 8 million views on YouTube in less than a month!

Tune in to FashionTV all weekend, December 12-14 for our Burberry special! Watch LIVE.

Who Graced the Pink Carpet?

The Pink Carpet was London-chic, with everyone from model Poppy Delevigne to British singers Ellie Goulding and Eliza Doolittle, Olivia Palermo and even Kate’s little sister Lottie Moss adding their signature glamour to the show’s crowd. Catch FashionTV exclusive interviews with the celebs as they took their moment under the spotlight before the show.

Scandal: Jessica Hart Booted Off

Australian model Jessica Hart was rumoured to have been booted off the show, caused by a candid remark about Taylor Swift’s performance last year. ‘I think, you know what, god bless her heart. I think she’s great,’ she said, speaking to WWD. ‘But, I don’t know, to me, she didn’t fit.’ Although it was not officially announced that Jessica would not be walking this year, the proof lay in the pudding! See if you can spot Jessica in last year’s show.

And even though the show has come and gone in the blink of an eye, there’s always exciting Victoria’s Secret news going on year round. And before you know it, the Summer 2015 swimwear range will be out and getting the media in a frenzy. Or, you could always ogle at the annual show pictures to keep entertained!
